Exclusive design that transforms the everyday life of an urban home
A unique apartment in the center of Ourense becomes the scene of a complete transformation through an interior design project that redefines the everyday relationship with the space, adapting it to its owner’s lifestyle, thanks to the versatility of the furnishings.
NEED
Creating a home designed for a demanding private client, who values natural light and custom design, meant not only responding to an aesthetic desire in which every corner would be very expressive, but also to the request to create a livable, beautiful and versatile home, adapted to the client’s lifestyle, without sacrificing comfort or elegance.
APPROACH
The brief involved a complete reconfiguration of a small apartment, maintaining the balance between the decorative and the functional, while maintaining emotional environments that generated specific sensations, such as calm and energy in a single bedroom that doubles as an office, or the warmth of the living room and the calm of the bedroom.
Each design decision had to balance the basic premise of comfort with the challenge of balanced materials, using natural materials such as light woods, textiles, and matte lacquers, contrasted with dark metallic touches and polished surfaces. A balance between privacy and openness was achieved, conveying peace and character in equal measure.
SOLUTION
Both the preliminary renovation and the installation of the custom-made furniture designed for this comprehensive interior design were approached from a functional and sensitive perspective. We began by analyzing the flow of natural light and the user’s daily habits to reorganize the space in a logical and emotional way.
The original partitioning was eliminated, creating a space that unites the living room, dining room, and kitchen in a continuous sequence. The furniture was designed ad hoc, with pieces that combine functionality and artisanal detail, adapted to each corner. The finishes were chosen for their texture, luminosity, and visual coherence, seeking a balance between warmth and sophistication. The lighting combines natural light enhanced by large windows with recessed technical luminaires and decorative wall lights, creating versatile atmospheres.
Thanks to these solutions, the result is a fluid, harmonious, and welcoming space that transforms the home experience into something pleasurable and elegant.
