A conventional, classic home converted into a building with an institutional character, transforming it into a contemporary space where elegant design, efficiency, and representativeness in official receptions coexist daily without compromising anything.
The intervention in this home located in the exclusive El Pardo neighborhood of Madrid redefines diplomatic architecture through a proposal that integrates sophisticated spatial solutions in terms of design, scenic lighting, and fine materials.
This home is transformed into a highly functional environment of high excellence, where each room is designed to optimize privacy, enhance the sensorial experience, and highlight the quality of the custom design.
NEED
The main challenge of the project lay in adapting a pre-existing structure to the demanding standards of a representative institution, without altering its residential purpose. The intervention had to ensure visual privacy between areas such as the lounge area and the reception hall, without obstructing spatial continuity.
APPROACH
To meet the functional and aesthetic requirements, a precise architectural proposal was designed, meticulously prioritizing spatial hierarchy with clearly differentiated pathways, and strategically using the finest materials in the public areas, such as backlit alabaster, travertine marble, and dark stained wood, creating unique environments that convey a sensible luxury, serenity, and sobriety.
The lighting design is also architecturally integrated into the furnishings to reinforce the uniqueness of each space, through recessed and sculptural lighting fixtures, which, together with the large windows that bring in light, frame the garden and directly connect the interior with the natural surroundings.
SOLUTION
The proposal is articulated from a logic of comprehensive refinement, in which every design decision becomes an opportunity to generate expressive and controlled atmospheres. From the configuration of the pathways to the technological integration, everything responds to a desire for invisible precision that favors spatial continuity without aesthetic compromises.
The custom-designed furniture adapts as a functional system that accompanies everyday use without being visually imposing, while the presence of suspended elements and well-calibrated lighting resources contribute to enriching the three-dimensional perception of the whole.
This vision of space as a sensorial narrative reinforces the project’s identity and positions it as an example of serene and sophisticated intervention.
